If Arduino is not working with PRIZM/PULSE, try the following steps:

  1. Log into the computer as administrator.
  2. Open the Arduino IDE
  3. Go to tools, find Port, and view.
    1. If a port shows up, you are connected and should be able to work, if no port shows up, continue.

  1. Open the Device Manager on the computer.
    1. Go to the windows button in the bottom right corner of the screen

    1. Type “device manager” in the search bar and select the device manager icon when it pops up

  1. When device manager is up, scroll to the computer’s ports. The device should be appearing here. If it does not continue.
    1. If the device does not appear in the Ports line but does appear elsewhere you need to update your drivers.
      1. When you find the driver that is acting up go to https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/  and download the correct driver for your machine.
      2. Look for the words below on the webpage.
      3. Then go back to device manager and update the driver with this one (you might have to do it a few times)
    2. This should get your device working.

  1. If the device does not show up in the Ports line, try plugging the device into a different port.
