Identify the Issue and Recommended Solutions

1. Is the PRIZM® or PULSE® battery fully charged? Is the PS4 battery fully charged?

  • If no, recommend they start with a fully charged battery.
  • If yes, move to the next question.

2. Is there a blue light on the Tele-Op?

  • If no, look for issues with how it’s wired or issues relating to the battery.
  • If yes, the Tele-Op is getting power; move to next question.

3. Is the green light flashing on the Tele-Op?

  • If no, the firmware has probably been overwritten. If the customer can’t use the red Reset button or turn the power off and on to get the green light blinking, the customer will need to reinstall the firmware.
  • If yes, that means the Tele-Op is ready to connect. Go over the correct connection process.

4. Can you clearly read the brand name “Sony” on the back of the controller?

  • If no, they might not have a genuine Sony PS4 controller. Verify purchase from Pitsco and Sale Order number and replace if possible.
  • If yes, their Tele-Op and PS4 controller should be working as expected. Recommend a Teams meeting with webcams to connect the Tele-Op together. Double-check each of the issues above.

Additional Comments

This is a simplified version of the pairing process:

1. Power up PRIZM and Tele-Op.

2. When the Tele-Op is blinking green, put the PS4 controller in discovery mode (press the PS4 and Share buttons at the same time).

3. The light bar on the PS4 controller will rapidly blink white (not standard search blink).

4. Press the black button on Tele-Op, which will then momentarily flash red and then green, and the light bar on the controller will go green.
